Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) lemongrass stem extract have activity as control of cockroaches, (2) extract of citronella stem in different concentrations have different activities as a contact poison, (3) extract of citronella stem inconcentrations have different activities as a stomach poision and (4) concentration of citronella stem extract that used as the most optimal controlling of cockroaches. The research was experiment research with patterns of “The Post-test Only Control Group Design” with research design is completely randomized design (CRD), with five treatment ie: 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm, 200 ppm and 0 ppm (control), each consist of three replicates. The data in the form of average mortality of cockroaches and then analyzed with One Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA) at significance level of 5%. The result shows for a contact poison F hit > F tab (11,22 > 3,48) and for the poison of stomach F hit > F tab (35,34 > 3,48). The results of this research shows that: (1) extract of citronella stem in different concentrations have different activities as stomach poison, (2) extract of citronella stem at different dilutions have different activities as a contact poison and (3) At dilution 150 ppm of extract lemongrass stem that most optimal as cockroach controller.
