Abstract

This paper aims to describe the process of scientific thinking based on mathematical thinking. Through learning mathematics will train us to think logically, based on facts as a known element, then formulate hypotheses that will direct our thinking process to produce conclusions. The process in mathematics is stated by: Known (these are facts) ...., Calculate / prove (This is as a problem statement or hypothesis) ... and next is the Count / proof ... These steps are steps of scientific thinking. In the process of proof or calculation in mathematics can use intuition, analogy, trial and error, deductive and inductive (mathematical induction). Likewise in proof, it can use direct or indirect proof through a process of drawing conclusions based on Ponens Mode, Tollens Mode and Syllogism
