Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is a provision for the development of students in everyday life. At the same time, interest is a sense of desire that grows in a person to carry out an activity without coercion. Regarding this matter, the low interest of students when participating in mathematics learning makes thinking skills in problem-solving also fall into the lowly category as the results of observations at SMP Negeri 8 Denpasar. This research was conducted to find the differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities, interest in learning, and the imultaneous differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities and learning interests of seventh-grade students in the 2020/2021 academic year at SMP Negeri 8 Denpasar through the application of Geogebra learning media. This research is quasi-experimental by using two classes of samples that given different treatments. The experimental class will receive treatment using Geogebra learning media, while the control class following conventional learning models. Data analysis used the one-way MANOVA test assisted by SPSS 22. The results showed that there were differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities, learning interests, and simultaneous differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities and students' learning interests.
