Abstract

The study, titled "Evaluation of Characteristics and Items Response of Numerical Methods Test" aims to know how to evaluate the characteristics and items response of numerical method test with Partial Credit Model (PCM). This research is a descriptive explorative research and data analysis is done by using PCM. The data obtained from midterm exam of numerical methods and the item response. The results obtained in this study, namely a) the evaluation of the characteristics of numerical methods test based on output Phase 2 and item characteristic curve (ICC) provides information that numerical methods test included in the difficult category; b) the evaluation of the item response based on output of Phase 3, ICC, histogram, as well as the information function curve and Standard Error of Measurement (SEM) gives information that the average ability of participants in answering the numerical methods test is in the medium category.
