Abstract
This study describes descriptively about aspects of religiosity staging Tari Baris KupuKupu in the religious system of Hindus in Bali Mountains. The performance of the Baris Kupu Dance is performed right at the Pujawali ceremony by the Balinese Mountain people. Hindus in the Balinese people Mountains believe the Baris Kupu-Kupu sacred dance is the guardian dance of the ancestors. The performance is always related to the lives of local people as an agrarian society. Tari Baris Kupu-Kupu is performed to express people's gratitude to their ancestors, and the gods who have given gifts in the form of fertility. In addition, the performance of the Tari Baris Kupu-Kupu is also related to people's trust in things related to catharsis (sanctification). So people are very confident, when the Tari Baris Kupu is staged in a sacred space, it can indirectly purify the macrocosm (Bhuwana Agung) and microcosm (Bhuwana Alit).
