Abstract

Tourism development has led to a cultural transformation from an agrarian to an industrial culture. The process of cultural transformation also occurs in the field of performing arts, so that artistic creativity appears and can be used as tourist consumption. Tourism is the arena for trading art. By understanding the development of tourism as an economic arena, this paper aims to find out the emergence of Kecak dance, a Balinese creative culture to meet the needs of tourists. Tourism development has led to the emergence of Sanghyang dance packaging into Kecak dance as a creative culture. These conditions have raised various problems which have implications for the occurrence of sacred art falsification as traditional art that is attached to religious ceremonies (traditional pseudo of ritual art). To analyze those problems, library methods and analysis of socio-cultural changes are used in this paper. Socio-cultural changes will not be avoided as atourismimpact, resulting in cultural commercialization which has implications for the emergence of various creativity. The emergence of various creativities originating from traditional culture, has led to the blurring of sacred art and profane art.
