Abstract
This study discused the kasepekang discourse (social exclusion sanction in Balinese custom) in Balinese literary fiction works. Of the seven works made the objects of study, diverse views on customary sanction kasepekang are discovered. However, by uisng sociological approach and dialectical analysis method, this study reveals the spirit of Balinese reform, especially in terms of applying the customary sanction of kasepekang, which in considered to be not in accordance with the present situation within the fictional Balinese authors.
